About Diamond Family Circus

The Diamonds pride themselves on bringing excellent entertainment and instruction to a wide range of venues, age groups, and abilities, and can customize themes, performances, and workshops. Marci Diamond, the founder/director of Diamond Circus, was born into a gymnastics family. When Marci’s sisters had snapped the legs off their dolls, she became their “Gymnast Barbie.” The girls were pleased to learn that Marci’s legs didn’t come off, and Marci thanks them for helping her to get her start in contortion. Marci was a competitive gymnast and studied theater, dance, education and injury prevention, while pursuing a BA and MPA.

Marci’s training includes circus skills, performance, and teacher training at the New England Center for Circus Arts, the San Francisco Circus Center, and Circus Arts Institute with alumni of Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Eloize, Ringling, and Big Apple, as well as additional training in physical theater and acting for film. A proud member of both the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity, Marci has performed in films, national commercials, theaters, tented circuses, fairs, fundraising events, clubs, and was half of the duo trapeze act voted finalist in the USA Today/NCL Epic Star contest. She also provides consultation and workshops for many arts and youth organizations, and tours regularly with her original (non-circus) one-woman show as Catherine Hogarth Dickens!

Marci has taught flexibility, acrobatics, aerials and performance skills to all ages. She incorporates her youth development experience in supporting Diamond Family Circus’ youth performance troupe, “FRiNDS”, and is an active member of the American Youth Circus Organization. Marci loves sharing the joy, creation, and healing human connection found in performing and teaching circus. She also enjoys collaborating with other performers and coaches such as her daughter Marisa, who co-founded Diamond Family Circus and its youth troupe. We often incorporate the troupe and work with other professional circus performers, depending on the event. For aerial acts, rigging can be arranged easily in most venues, and an 18′ freestanding rig may be provided for an additional fee. Please contact us to discuss how we can help create incredibly memorable and joyful events and workshops.
